Wow...a great professor of mine would have conclude with "Aaah, the great contridictions of politics." I encourage you to keep on the path of learning through such a critical lense. Its crazy to think how far you have come in your process...you and I 5 years ago would end in tears over the conflict. Its always smarter to be able to at least see both sides....BY the way, I am in France...spent last night at 24 hour capoeira event...right off the train and today wandering the amazingly clean and affluent streets of Paris.
